XLBookMe SMS Opt-In
Effective 29 October 2026
How customers opt in to XLBookMe booking messages
Customers opt in during the normal booking process for a specific business.
Which kind of message is offered depends on the mobile number they enter. A United States number is offered a text message; an international number is offered WhatsApp, where XLBookMe can send it. Only one is ever offered, and agreeing to one is never treated as agreeing to the other.
This page documents the opt-in flows. Actual SMS consent is collected only through the public booking form for the specific business, and, for a business owner's own daily schedule, only in that owner's XLBookMe account.
The steps a customer takes
- Open the public booking page for the business.
- Select a service, date, and time.
- On the Details step, enter a mobile phone number.
- Optionally select the SMS consent checkbox.
The SMS consent, as a customer sees it while booking
Below is a demonstration of the details step of the XLBookMe booking form, where a customer may opt in to text messages. It is built from the same wording the live form uses.

Leaving the box unticked still completes the booking. The email confirmation is sent either way.
This is an example only. Every control above is disabled, this page collects nothing and submitting it is not possible - nobody is enrolled in text messages here. Real consent is given only on a business’s own XLBookMe booking page, by ticking that box while booking.
Consent is optional
The checkbox is not selected by default, and SMS consent is not required to complete a booking.
A customer who leaves it alone books exactly as they otherwise would, and is never texted.
What these messages are
Transactional booking notifications only — for example, a confirmation that an appointment has been booked.
- They are sent for the specific business the customer is booking with, using XLBookMe as the technology platform.
- XLBookMe sends text messages only to United States mobile numbers. International numbers are offered WhatsApp instead, and are never sent an international text message.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out. SMS consent is optional; your email confirmation is sent either way.
- XLBookMe does not use this consent to send marketing messages.
Business owners: Daily Schedule SMS
A business owner can also choose to receive one text message a day listing their own business's appointments (the Daily Schedule SMS). Only the owner can turn it on, from their XLBookMe account: they agree to the wording shown beside an unticked checkbox and confirm their mobile number with a 6-digit code texted to it, and nothing is sent to a number that has not been confirmed. Customers are never enrolled in it.
It is a separate program from customer booking messages, and agreeing to one is never treated as agreeing to the other.
- The owner opens Settings in their XLBookMe account, enters their own United States mobile number and chooses a time between 4:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
- They select the checkbox, which is not selected by default, beside this statement:
- Text me my daily appointment schedule for [Business Name], from XLBookMe: one message a day at the time I choose. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out. Consent is not required to use XLBookMe.
- XLBookMe then texts a code to that number:
- XLBookMe code: 123456. Enter it to get your daily schedule text for [Business Name] (1 msg/day). Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
- The daily texts start only after the owner enters that code. The owner can turn them off in Settings at any time, or reply STOP.
- Each text lists the day's appointment times, each customer's first name and last initial, and what was booked. XLBookMe does not use this consent to send marketing messages.
